The remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was recently released exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2 console. The digital version of the game sells for $60, while the physical version (cartridge) costs $70.
However, the rapid development of AI-based tools is gradually erasing the concept of “exclusivity.” Amid a boom in unofficial console game ports, changes were made to the Claude AI that were supposed to complicate the emergence of such projects. Nevertheless, on launch day, the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was still successfully launched on PC.
Now players are posting The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake gameplay footage online. Judging by the counter, the game can achieve 40+ FPS inside a cave.
Players note that the Ocarina of Time remake does not run flawlessly on PC yet—in more open spaces, the frame rate drops significantly. Nevertheless, the very fact that a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive could be launched on PC on release day is already a major achievement.
Some players are watching this with sadness—they do not understand why Switch 1 emulation progress has been so sluggish over nearly two years, while the Switch 2 emulator made a major leap “in a couple of days.”
