Xbox app for PC runs 60% faster after update

Microsoft has made the Xbox app for PC launch up to 60% faster, with Store and Game Pass pages loading up to 50% faster. Navigation has been simplified, and the cloud service interface has been updated.

Xbox Insider members can test a new version of the Xbox app for PC. The main change relates to performance: the program launches 60% faster. Store and Game Pass pages load up to 50% faster.

The developers also revamped the navigation. The Library section now features new filters that make sorting games more convenient. The friends list has been moved to the main menu so users can start chatting faster. The improved search now allows finding games, add-ons, and other users in one place.

The updates will also affect browser-based cloud gaming. A new Library tab will appear on the official Xbox website, gathering all cloud games available to the user. The list will include both purchased titles and games from the Xbox Game Pass subscription.

The web version of the service will also get a Desktop mode designed for use on larger screens. Microsoft will also add several appearance options: light and dark themes, as well as a high contrast mode.
