In early November, developer Leven Liu and publisher INDIECN announced the release of the full version of Zed Zone on PC via Steam. The game was launched in Early Access three years ago.
To mark the release of version 1.0, the solo developer published a message to players, with a Russian version also available:
Hello survivors! After three years of continuous updates in Early Access, Zed Zone, which I have been developing solo, launches on November 6. The full version brings the long-awaited new island, co-op multiplayer, and farming, as well as two new game modes: “Cataclysm” and “Horde” […] The full version is not the end of the road for Zed Zone. I will continue to polish the game and release updates, and I am also exploring what other possibilities the Steam Workshop can offer.
According to the story, a catastrophe has engulfed the world: the protagonist’s aircraft crashes, leaving him trapped in the Zed Zone, surrounded by zombies and monsters. For example, the game features flamethrower zombies and firefighter zombies, as well as robots, a giant mutant lizard, a juggernaut (a swarm infected creature living in symbiosis with a host organism), and more.
In the full version, players will be able to explore “Far Island” featuring ten new areas, including an old airport, a military camp, and a nuclear power plant. An island railway, new weapon models, Zone 61, and a final boss (a three-phase battle) will be available.
Zed Zone’s co-op multiplayer can support up to 8 players: “Explore the map, gather supplies, fight shoulder to shoulder with friends, and head to Far Island together. The apocalypse throws more tasks at you than a single survivor can handle, so this time call your friends and share the burden.” The developer implemented mod synchronization—the host’s mods automatically sync with joining players.
The Zed Zone page on Steam is available at the following link. The game received “Very Positive” reviews, holding an 82% rating after nearly 4,000 reviews.
A 40% launch discount will be available for the game until November 19, along with a bundle featuring the extraction shooter Escape from Duckov.
