Recently, the lead actor of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas addressed long-standing rumors. The game became immensely successful, and some sources claim that Young Maylay was dissatisfied with his pay for the role of Carl “CJ” Johnson.
Recently, a user going by the handle rpg! drew attention to an episode of “The Final Mission”. Actor Ned Luke, who played Michael De Santa in Grand Theft Auto V, was speaking with Young Maylay.
The actor who played CJ stated that people have no idea how much he received. Young Maylay explained that he was not only paid his fee, but also unexpected “bonuses” — they were sent after the game was released:
I will tell you honestly: they could have made anyone famous by giving them that role. Who am I to say something like, ‘oh, that amount is not enough.’ What they paid me was enough for me, and then they gave me even more.
Young Maylay emphasized that rumors about his “dissatisfaction with the fee” are nonsense:
To dispel once and for all all those rumors that I was supposedly unhappy with the fee… That is complete nonsense. If I had been unhappy with the fee, I simply wouldn't have taken on the project.
Rockstar Games is currently preparing for the release of Grand Theft Auto VI, scheduled for November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. The actors playing the lead roles — Lucia and Jason — have not yet been revealed, and players are formulating various theories regarding the actors involved in the project.
