This summer, Sony announced it was abandoning PlayStation game discs. Months later, some console owners continue to leave comments under Sony's posts, urging the company to bring back physical versions of games. The same thing happened with a recent post dedicated to PlayStation Plus perks.
Sony announced that PlayStation Plus subscribers would have access to various perks. For instance, players will be able to save on gaming merchandise and Bluetooth speakers from Sony Electronics, as well as receive discounts on purchases at the PlayStation Direct store. In addition, a 3-month trial of YouTube Premium and bonuses for other services are offered.
However, judging by the comments, the vast majority of players are not particularly pleased with such perks. Instead, they are very irritated that Sony has not reconsidered its decision regarding discs.
A user going by the handle RUSHER_117 pointed out that calling “free trials” a perk is a huge risk (the word “trial” also refers to legal proceedings). Some players are taking Sony to court and disputing digital goods ownership.
Anyone can get a free trial... but what do you have to say about discs? — hriddies1
It is going to take a lot more than a “free trial” for a service to earn our trust back. If you had not been so greedy, this situation would not have happened. But now you are using dynamic pricing, which will land you in court again... Sony will go down in history as the greediest company that has ever existed... — KC_4191
This just looks pathetic. PlayStation is desperately trying to win back trust and trying everything, but doing nothing that actually matters to players — ValhallaFeed
The only perk I need is discs — Gods_sonAFC
Zipiol believes that with the release of the upcoming PlayStation 6 console, Sony itself will get the “zero users” perk.
