Cyberpunk 2077 got fan-made multiplayer with RP servers

Fans have built an online mode on their own.

CD Projekt RED never added multiplayer to Cyberpunk 2077, but fans definitely have a demand for an online mode. Recently, an unofficial solution has emerged.

In early November, modders announced the launch of alpha testing for the “Open77” multiplayer: players will be able to set out on adventures in Night City together.

The creators published a trailer featuring a compilation of gameplay footage:

The logic behind “Open77” is similar to GTA V’s FiveM — it is a platform that allows players to host servers and set their own game rules.

The modders warned that playing multiplayer will require a licensed copy of Cyberpunk 2077, as well as the Phantom Liberty expansion. At the same time, the dedicated server runs independently of Cyberpunk 2077 on Windows x64 or Linux x64.

CD Projekt RED is currently working on a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, though it does not yet have a release date or launch window. Next year, the company plans to release the Songs of the Past story expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, while the release of the franchise’s next installment, The Witcher 4, is scheduled for 2028.
