Back in March, Earthworm Jim and The Neverhood creator Doug TenNapel announced that he was working on a new adventure game created using stop-motion claymation, just like The Neverhood.
Yesterday, Pencil Test Studios, the team he leads, launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for Armikrog, which looks like a spiritual successor to The Neverhood. Incidentally, Pencil Test Studios includes people who previously worked on the aforementioned games.
The protagonist of the new adventure is a space explorer named Tommynaut and his blind talking dog Beak-Beak. Their ship crash-lands on an unknown planet, and they are taken prisoner and locked up in the Armikrog fortress.
The game is expected to be released in July of this year for PC, Mac, and Linux; at the time of publication, the developers had raised $121,000 out of the required $900,000.
