Disqualified after calls for Hong Kong's liberation, player Blitzchung decided to respond to Blizzard's president's statement. He posted a message on Twitter in which he thanked not only the gaming community for their support, but also Blizzard, and admitted his mistake.
Blitzchung promised that in the future he would express his support for Hong Kong more thoughtfully:
“First of all, I am grateful to Blizzard for changing their stance on my disqualification. Earlier this week, I told the media that I knew I could be punished for my actions. In the future, I will be more careful when expressing my opinions and will support Hong Kong on my personal platforms.”
Then the player moved on to the topic of winning and disqualification:
“Regarding the prize, I will quote what Blizzard wrote on their official website. They said I played fairly and should receive the prize. I really appreciate that. [...] As for the disqualification, Blizzard reduced it from a year to six months. I really appreciate that, but honestly, six months is still too much. But I was told that I can participate in Pro Circuit tournaments.”
Blitzchung added that he would like Blizzard to reconsider the disqualification of the two casters. He admitted that he does not yet know whether he will participate in Hearthstone tournaments in the future.
