There is reason to believe that Dark Souls 3 will be the last installment in the Souls series. Such thoughts were expressed by From Software President Hidetaka Miyazaki in a recent interview.
“I don't think that endlessly continuing the Souls and Bloodborne series is the right choice. I am considering the possibility that Dark Souls 3 will be the last game in the series. This is not only my wish; both I and From Software studio want to create something new in the future,” Miyazaki noted.
Miyazaki and From Software are not going to stop delighting their fans with unusual games: “Our next project was conceived when I was president of the company. I think From Software should create new things. We are going to release new games, and Dark Souls 3 is an important stage in the evolution of From Software.”
Dark Souls 3 will be released on April 12, 2016, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
