According to Kotaku, information has surfaced on the website of British marketing company Arkenford indicating that a full sequel to the colorful 2D platformer Rayman: Origins is currently in development.

The source cites details from a marketing study not intended for the general public, along with the first screenshots of the Rayman: Origins sequel. The follow-up to the original game will stay true to the spirit of the first installment; the developers do not plan to drastically alter the core gameplay, with the stylish 2D visuals and four-player co-op remaining intact. However, the action will unfold across brand-new locations: players will explore castles filled with vampires and ghosts, as well as encounter real dragons and Greek gods.

Rayman Origins was released on consoles last fall, and just recently the game arrived on PC. The average score across all versions of the game sits just under 9/10.
