PlayStation State of Play
Sony was the first to take the stage, presenting 14 video games for the current PlayStation generation. It didn't overlook PC players either, bringing long-awaited releases to a new audience.
Concord
A new live-service game from Firewalk Studios, which has become part of PlayStation Studios. Previously, we were shown a spaceship flying at light speed, and now — colorful mercenary characters and their abilities that will be part of the gameplay. And cringey jokes. A whooole trailer full of idiotic jokes!
The gameplay is a 5v5 first-person session-based arena hero shooter. Sony wanted its own Overwatch when the hype for that game had already died down. The Concord beta starts on June 24, with the release set for August 23 on PlayStation 5 and PC.
God of War Ragnarok
As predicted — the sequel to the 2018 game is coming to PC with an unlocked frame rate, support for DLSS, FSR 3, and XeSS upscalers, and ultra-wide resolution support. The roguelike DLC Valhalla will also be included in the release. Coming September 19, with pre-orders now available on Steam.

Dynasty Warriors
A trailer for the new Dynasty Warriors, featuring the Three Kingdoms setting. The genre remains the same — MUSOU, where the player faces thousands of warriors on a single screen. Coming in 2025.
Infinity Nikki
A game for boys and girls where you can ride a bicycle as a cute cat, photograph beautiful heroines, and visit magnificent, sprawling locations. Plus, dress up heroines, customize their appearance, and... talk to fallen goddesses?
Ballad of Antara — 2025 on PS5
Another Souls-like, once again packed with effects, an incomprehensible world, and gorgeous visuals. No release date, almost no information. The only thing revealed is that it's a game from the creators of Pascal's Wager, one of the best souls-likes on mobile.
Skydance Behemoth
A PlayStation VR2 game from the creators of The Walking Dead. It was first announced back in 2021 at The Game Awards with a cinematic trailer. Now, diverse gameplay has been shown. Releasing in fall 2024.

Alien: Rogue Incursion — a game for PS VR2
An Alien game in virtual reality. Unfortunately, nothing beyond a couple of shots and a vague release window: “Holiday 2024.”
Marvel Rivals — console port
Another Overwatch clone, but this time set in the Marvel universe. Unfortunately, it is too early to judge the quality of the game — there was recently a scandal where bloggers who accepted invitations to the closed beta test were forbidden from mentioning the project's flaws.
Where Winds Meet
Yet another Souls-like set in China that had already been showcased at previous presentations. Back then, it looked like a cool Chinese entry in the genre, but the gameplay differs little from Wo Long by the creators of Nioh.
Until Dawn
The Until Dawn remake was finally shown off. The graphics look somewhat worse, yet the game will release on PS5 and PC in fall 2024. No specific date yet.

Path of Exile 2
A story trailer for one of the most anticipated Diablo-likes of recent years. It seems several new classes were unveiled: looking a lot like a blacksmith and a wind sorceress. It also features couch co-op on consoles, cross-play between consoles and PC, and cross-progression across platforms. Early Access arrives later in 2024.

Silent Hill 2 Remake
Full gameplay and characters of Silent Hill 2 were shown, along with iconic locations from the original. They revealed the updated heroine Angela, combat with nurses (and the ability to dodge attacks!). Release date — October 8.

Monster Hunter: Wilds
Capcom presented a story trailer for the new Monster Hunter installment. Players will be able to ride mountable monsters and use them in battle, traverse diverse biomes, and study new, previously unseen creatures. Players will also have to use the environment to shake off particularly aggressive beasts. Dynamic day-and-night cycles and weather conditions will also be featured. Coming in 2025.
Astro Bot
Sony presented the best game of the showcase — the sequel in the Astro Bot series for PlayStation 5. For now, it's the only game making full use of the DualSense controller and its features. And in fact, it's the most vibrant, interesting, and coolest game of the showcase. Arriving September 6 on PlayStation 5.

Silent Hill: Transmission
Almost immediately after the Sony broadcast, Konami joined the fray with a showcase dedicated to the Silent Hill universe. Alas, we received no new information on Silent Hill F and other projects, but we did get 13 minutes of gameplay from Silent Hill 2 and details about the movie Return to Silent Hill.
Extended Silent Hill 2 showcase
At the extended showcase, full gameplay of Bloober Team's Silent Hill 2 was presented. Walking the streets of Silent Hill looks just as creepy, but now even more realistic. There is also a feeling that the game's intro has changed, with the first monster encounter now taking place inside an abandoned house rather than under a roadway.
The protagonist also moves true to the original PS2 vision — he is not a soldier and possesses no combat training, swinging his plank as best he can. The large number of contextual animations is also pleasing: picking up notes, the protagonist makes map notes manually, and can inspect and rotate items.
If you were horrified by the character of Angela in the trailer shown at PlayStation State of Play 2024, you don't need to worry about Maria — James's companion looks very faithful to the original. She even sways her hips, which was an important trait of hers — after all, she was a bar dancer. Laura, the little girl running away from the protagonist with a letter for his late wife Mary, also looks close to the original.
Everything is great with the nurses too, who are meant to look sexy: deep cleavage, stockings with garters, a creepy gait, and bloodstained clothes. And their hits hurt just as much as in the original! They've also been given proper reactions to gunfire and melee strikes, something many complained about back during the first gameplay trailer — now the combat system looks much better.
Two editions available for pre-order were also announced: Standard and Deluxe. By pre-ordering the Standard Edition, all buyers will receive one extra mask for James on PC, and on PlayStation 5 — an additional mask of the rabbit from Silent Hill 3. The Deluxe Edition includes an artbook and a reworked soundtrack by Akira Yamaoka, as well as a Pyramid Head mask and 48-hour early access to the game. Director Christophe Gans showed footage from the production of the movie based on Silent Hill 2. He also shared that he was inspired specifically by the first four installments of the franchise and tried to capture what he saw in the series in maximum detail. At the same time, the main character, James, looks quite different from his video game counterpart — the movie character is hairier, bearded, and his face looks nothing like the in-game version. Akira Yamaoka is also involved in composing the score for the film. Cover image rights belong to Konami. The PlayStation logo belongs to Sony. Return to Silent Hill movie presentation
