Aspyr studio is working on a Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake, media report

Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier confirmed the information in a conversation with MinnMax. It was also revealed that the game should not be expected before 2023

In an interview with MinnMax, Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier stated that Aspyr studio is hard at work on a remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. The budget for the currently untitled project will be 70 million dollars.

Since, according to Schreier, Electronic Arts has nothing to do with the game, it should not be expected earlier than 2023, when the publisher’s exclusive license for projects in the Star Wars universe expires. 

Aspyr is no stranger to Star Wars games and has already managed to work on re-releases of Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast, and even Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic itself, but only for iOS.
