Speaking to Axios anonymously, several Activision Blizzard employees supported the stance of company producer Tami Sigmund, who previously asked people not to boycott Blizzard games, saying that otherwise she would not have the means to support her child.
“When people don't spend money on our games, it directly impacts my take-home pay and bonus percentages. As a result of this lawsuit, it may happen that at the end of my maternity leave, when my child goes to daycare, I won't receive the bonus needed for childcare.”
Employees claim that boycotts do more harm than good. The company's leadership will take note of falling profits, but is more likely to lay off striking workers than fix working conditions.
“We can't fix problems by being unemployed, and we don't uplift women by boycotting the work they do.”
