Twitch introduced a new broadcast promotion model. Streamers will be able to buy view boosts

The platform administration is trying to explain that this will help small channels become more popular, but users are not fooled

Twitch has once again unpleasantly surprised many users by introducing an option that allows streamers and their viewers to pay to promote broadcasts. For now, it is available only to a select group of streamers participating in the platform’s research group.

How it works: streamers and viewers will be able to buy so-called boosters that start recommending broadcasts to other users. A three-thousand booster costing $3 will recommend the broadcast to three thousand platform users.

Twitch claims that such an initiative will help increase the follower count of small channels, but users quite reasonably believe that large channels with wealthy streamers and a large number of subscribers will remain at the top just as they were, since they will be able to officially boost their views without the help of bots.
