Over 100 thousand people have already played Battlefield 2042 at launch

This is now the highest figure among paid games published by Electronic Arts. Previously, the record was held by the Mass Effect trilogy remaster

Contrary to criticism from the gaming community and certain specialized outlets, the launch of Battlefield 2042 (at least on Steam) has been a success for Electronic Arts. At the time of this publication, over 100,000 people are taking part in the 2042 war between Russia and the US. 

This is the highest figure among paid games by publisher Electronic Arts. Previously, the record belonged to the remaster Mass Effect Legendary Edition, which was played by nearly 60,000 people at launch. 

However, the absolute record belongs to the free-to-play Apex Legends — 330,000 concurrently active players.
