Actor Doug Cockle, who voices Geralt of Rivia in CDPR’s The Witcher game series, spoke out regarding the Netflix show and Henry Cavill’s departure.
“Henry hasn’t said this personally, but fans believe that he left the show because he didn’t agree with the showrunners’ vision. If that is indeed the case, then I can understand him, as Henry is a huge fan of the [original] games and books.”
According to the actor, the showrunners deviated too far from Pan Sapkowski’s books and the events of the game trilogy.
“The writers of the series somehow decided to deviate significantly from the books and games. Whether that is good or bad depends on your preferences. Personally, I don’t understand their choice. I think that is why Henry left.”
Notably, Cockle once greatly praised the show, pointing out the “incredible performances from a very talented cast” and saying he was eagerly looking forward to the continuation.
