Piranha Games head Russ Bullock stated on the No Guts No Galaxy podcast that the studio is already actively working on a new game in the Battletech universe.
According to Bullock, the project will not be a sequel to MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries, but a standalone game featuring single-player and multiplayer modes, built on the same foundation.
The formal announcement of the project will take place before the end of this year, but its release may not happen until 2025.
On January 26, MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries will receive the Rise of Rasalhague expansion, which will add new missions, battle mech chassis variants, a new feature, and the Bounty Hunter to the game.
