One of the screenwriters of “Dune” and “Prometheus” will work on Netflix's Gears of War adaptation

Jon Spaihts will work on the screenplay for the Gears of War adaptation for Netflix. Who will take the director's chair is unknown. The cast also remains a mystery.

“Gears of War is one of the best action games with vivid characters, a beautifully designed world, and a combat system that helps one understand the full brutality of war and the importance of comrades always having your back. It simply wants to be adapted into a film, and I am thrilled to help it do that,” Spaihts rejoices.

Jon Spaihts nearly won an Oscar statuette for Best Adapted Screenplay for “Dune”. Among his other works are “The Mummy” starring Tom Cruise, “Passengers”, and “Doctor Strange”.
