In practice, Diablo 4 players frequently spend time in the Champion's Demise dungeon, which has become the default location for farming experience. It was this location that those who reached level 100 in various modes ran through again and again. All because this spot had a noticeably larger cluster of elite enemies, meaning a higher chance of obtaining valuable items and experience.
In the latest patch notes, Blizzard writes:
“We are standardizing the density of elite monsters that spawn in dungeons to ensure no particular location is clearly superior to others.”
It sounds reasonable, but players are dissatisfied. Low enemy density has been a subject of criticism for Diablo 4 since launch day, so users suggest Blizzard go in the opposite direction and buff the remaining dungeons instead of nerfing Champion's Demise.
The developers are forcing players into groups, just like in Diablo 3. Co-op was the most efficient way to play, while solo players were left at a disadvantage. The same applies to Diablo 4 – here, solo players miss out on a 5% experience bonus, not to mention monster-kill speed.
A post criticizing the developers garnered 7.4 thousand upvotes on Reddit. The takeaway is this:
“If you want people to group up, add matchmaking. Because playing solo is getting harder and harder.”
