Sega likes its relationship with Microsoft, but the company is not for sale. For now

Recently disclosed documents revealed that Phil Spencer asked Microsoft to acquire Sega Sammy

Amid recent news that Phil Spencer asked Microsoft to acquire Sega, journalists asked the leadership of the Japanese company how it feels about the prospect of becoming part of a major corporation.

“Not right now. We are very close with Microsoft and have a great relationship with its management team. Phil Spencer and Sarah Bond from Xbox really take the values that video game fans hold dear seriously,” — said Sega Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Shuji Utsumi.

In addition to Sega, Microsoft also considered acquiring Square Enix and its Western studios.
