Sony will release a new PS5 Slim model this year, according to court documents

Microsoft, currently embroiled in a legal battle with the US Federal Trade Commission, genuinely believes in the release of Sony's new console

During the legal battle between Microsoft and the US Federal Trade Commission, documents surfaced indicating that Sony will release a cheaper Slim version of the PlayStation 5 console before the end of the current year. The device will also reportedly not feature an optical drive. The price of the PlayStation 5 Slim will be lower than that of the digital revision of the PlayStation 5, which currently costs 400 US dollars (at least officially supposed to cost that).

It is important to note that the document does not mention why Microsoft believes Sony is going to release the PlayStation 5 Slim before the end of 2023, but there are plenty of rumors online that Sony is indeed working on a new gaming device.
