Unexpected sales leader in the UK. PS5 price drops brought a last year’s game back into the charts

The UK market saw an unexpected success from a 2022 game, which became the top seller last week.

The bestseller is LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, which launched on consoles and PC in April 2022. Analysts suggest that the reason was the high sales of the PlayStation 5 + The Skywalker Saga bundles. Last week, 74% of LEGO Star Wars copies went to owners of Sony's new console.

In recent weeks, discounts have been applied to the PS5 (the bundle price in the UK dropped to £399), including bundles with Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Gran Turismo 7, which explains the massive surge in game sales. From the 25th position, Spider-Man climbed to eighth place in the rankings, while The Skywalker Saga moved from sixth place to first.

Hogwarts Legacy continues to sell well. The game is still among the top five most popular games in the UK. However, there is a drop in interest in Pikmin 4, which tumbled off the podium down to ninth position.
