The gaming community's opinion on Starfield is split: many players are pleased with Bethesda’s new creation and, overlooking the optimization, Fallout 4-era facial animations, and long load times, genuinely enjoy Todd Howard’s space adventure. However, a notable number of users feel that Starfield is too boring and that you have to sink dozens of hours into the game for it to become even remotely interesting.
Meanwhile, Starfield fans urge others to ignore the widespread criticism, arguing that those dissatisfied have spent less than 10 hours in the game.
Those dissatisfied with the game found this claim merely laughable.
“You have to spend about 10 hours just to reach level 10. The first 10 hours of a game shouldn’t completely suck. I shouldn’t have to spend an entire workday playing a game just to form an opinion on it.”
“I spent over 12 hours in the game, and mostly I was just mining ore.”
Some point out that the first 10–15 hours should be seen as something of a tutorial, after which the game supposedly gets interesting.
