Warner Bros. Games made Mortal Kombat 1 servers unavailable to players from Russia and Belarus

The fighting game's network features are unavailable to users in Russia and Belarus, but players from these countries can create local matches, complete the story mode, and play towers and tutorials

Players from Russia and Belarus are complaining about being unable to connect to the Mortal Kombat 1 servers, although users from other countries have not encountered such issues. Enabling a VPN also resolves the problem.

As users report, attempting to connect to online features results in the message “An error occurred while connecting to the Mortal Kombat 1 server.” Without an online connection, it is impossible to customize a fighter's appearance, play the new “Invasion” mode, access the store, or try multiplayer.

Warner Bros. Games is among the companies that have left the Russian and Belarusian markets, but other developers and publishers do not restrict access to their servers. For example, players can freely connect to Battlefield and Call of Duty servers from Russian IPs.
