Euro Truck Simulator 2 received new graphics, reworked Switzerland and UI. Experimental update 1.50 released

Euro Truck Simulator 2 continues to improve. The developers are testing new technologies, an updated UI, and revamped regions

Recently, the developers of American Truck Simulator presented experimental update 1.50, offering players a chance to check out the new interface and improved graphics. The 1.50 beta test is currently underway, and access to it can be freely obtained via the game properties on Steam.

Now SCS Software has released a similar update for Euro Truck Simulator 2. The interface has also been redesigned here — it is now made in a minimalist style, and the status bar on the main screen has moved to the top. They also introduced brake “squeak” (sound).

Just like in ATS, changes have been made to the renderer of Euro Truck Simulator 2. It is still based on the DirectX 11 API, but now features TAA (Temporal Anti-Aliasing); new shadows, updated “soft particles”, smoke particles have also received improvements, and optimized lighting calculation was introduced (performance will increase in night scenes).

The creators of Euro Truck Simulator 2 are working on updating Germany: for 1.50, they reworked the Rhine region. Four cities were completely rebuilt — Dortmund, Cologne, Düsseldorf, and Duisburg; the surrounding areas also received an update, meaning the region was reimagined from scratch.

A reworked Switzerland was introduced (a complete overhaul of the region, including major cities like Geneva or Zurich): https://youtu.be/Ibp36dTWUkw
