As of this writing, the new Star Wars Outlaws story trailer has over 31 thousand thumbs up and nearly 21 thousand thumbs down. The number of jokes and negative comments under the video is also steadily rising. The reason for the community's outrage is the $130 price tag for the ultimate edition and the fact that owners of more expensive editions will get to play three days earlier than everyone else.
“I hate the new early access trend.”
“Pay to play three days early. Meaning: pay to be a beta tester.”
“The best thing about Ubisoft games: the trailers.”
“Can't wait to start clearing outposts.”
“Why is no one talking about prices ranging from $70 to $130? Remember: no pre-orders.”
“I remember how thrilled I used to get by Star Wars news. Those days are long gone.”
The game will be released on August 30 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
