Horizon: Call of the Mountain game director laid off

Alex Barnes, who worked at the company for seven years, was definitely hit by Sony's layoffs affecting over 900 developers

Horizon: Call of the Mountain game director Alex Barnes has been laid off from Firesprite studio, where he worked for the past 7 years.

“The people at Firesprite and Guerrilla who joined forces to work on Horizon Call of the Mountain are some of the most talented and dedicated developers I have had the pleasure of working with,” says Alex Barnes. “It was a great honor for me to lead such a team.”

Barnes lost his job as part of Sony's cost-cutting plan, which affected 8% of the company's workforce worldwide.

Earlier, Sony also canceled a new game in the Twisted Metal series that Firesprite was working on.
