Although rumors have been circulating online that Ubisoft has allegedly cancelled the development of the Splinter Cell remake, according to Insider Gaming, all of this is far from the truth.
Ubisoft continues working on the project, which is currently codenamed North and is being built on the Snowdrop engine, previously used in Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and Star Wars Outlaws.
The remake was first announced in December 2021. The development is led by the Ubisoft Toronto team. Back then, producer Matt West said that the project was in “early development” and the studio wanted to “deliver the spirit of the original game”.
