Switch 2 launch will be the biggest in Nintendo history — rumor

The company is allegedly planning to immediately ship over seven million consoles to the market.

The Switch 2 launch could become one of the biggest in Nintendo history, according to rumors circulating online.

A Reddit user who previously shared images of the prototype for the Big N’s new console claimed that Nintendo plans to ship 2.5 times more new consoles to the US market than it did for the launch of the original Nintendo Switch. If this 2.5-fold increase is extrapolated to worldwide shipments, Nintendo plans to ship between 6.5 and 7 million units, which would indeed make the launch of the Switch successor one of the biggest in history.

Information previously surfaced online suggesting that Nintendo plans to produce more than 10 million consoles in its first year.
