A board game based on The Last of Us using Escape the Dark mechanics has been released

The Last of Us universe has found a new incarnation in the form of a board game, where you can step into the shoes of a solo survivor or experience a cooperative adventure with friends.

Naughty Dog and Themeborne have unveiled The Last of Us: Escape the Dark — a board game that allows up to five players to embark on a journey through the grim post-apocalyptic world of the iconic franchise. For those who prefer playing solo, a dedicated mode is provided.

The gameplay is based on an enhanced system from the Escape the Dark series, adapted to the harsh realities of The Last of Us universe. The main objective is to survive and reach a safe haven in Jackson, starting the journey from an abandoned quarantine zone.

Players will explore an open world map, plan routes, and navigate dangerous locations. Threats include the Infected, FEDRA agents, and Hunters. Every step requires making tough decisions that affect the fate of the group, and players can use tactical items and roll special dice featuring attacks and various effects to survive. The game costs €86.95 (approximately 9,300 rubles) and is already available to order. It is not yet known whether it will appear in domestic stores.
