Man secretly spends 50,000 rubles on Genshin Impact characters using his fiancée's credit card

When the woman found out about the unplanned expense and grew upset, the 29-year-old gamer complained to his mom, accusing his fiancée of abusive behavior.

A post appeared on Reddit where a woman complained about her husband-to-be secretly spending $600 (around 50,000 rubles at the current Central Bank of Russia exchange rate) from her credit card to pull two characters in Genshin Impact. For context, she explained that she works 55 hours a week, while her fiancé drives for Uber during the day while she is at work. The couple lives paycheck to paycheck, meaning their financial situation is quite strained. The money was taken from a credit card intended for emergencies, such as repairs for the car her fiancé uses to drive passengers.

When the author found out about this expense, she was very upset and voiced her frustration. In response, her fiancé not only refused to admit his mistake, but also accused her of abusive behavior.

The author attached screenshots of their chat, where the fiancé defended himself by claiming he is an adult 29-year-old man and has the right to spend money without her permission. He also sent her a picture of the game character (Furina — editor's note) he spent the money on, along with the comment: “I already explained everything to you.”

“You know these are my values, and that Furina has always been my desktop wallpaper. I don't appreciate being verbally abused for who I am,” the Genshin Impact fan said.

When the woman threatened to contact the bank to dispute the charge, which would risk having her fiancé's account banned, the gamer threatened to call off the wedding in response and went to complain to his mother. The mother also accused the woman of abusive behavior and claimed her actions triggered a panic attack in her son.

The story ended with the engagement being called off. The gamer also blocked his fiancé on social media and Discord.
