Card roguelike about a train to hell Monster Train arrives on Android

Ahead of the release of Monster Train 2, publisher Good Shepherd Entertainment has released the original game on Google Play.

Five years after its PC release, the card roguelike Monster Train has become available on Android. The version that appeared on Google Play includes all major updates and expansions — Wild Mutations, Friends & Foes, and The Last Divinity.

In Monster Train, the player must defend the last Pyre from angels by managing a deck aboard a train speeding toward the frozen heart of hell. Unlike classic card roguelikes, battles here unfold across three vertical floors at once, requiring more deliberate tactics and skillful resource management. The game features over 250 cards and five clans that can be leveled up and combined with each other. The Last Divinity DLC adds a sixth clan — Wurmkin, along with new mechanics and cards.

A free trial version featuring two clans is available on Google Play. The full version of the game costs $10. The game supports cloud saves and offline mode.

Monster Train was released on iOS back in 2022. And the sequel — Monster Train 2 — will arrive on Steam on May 21, 2025.
