Squanch Games is back with another crazy shooter. At Gamescom 2025, the studio presented fresh material on High on Life 2.
The game will continue the story of the first installment from 2022, created with the participation of Justin Roiland, the author of "Rick and Morty." Although the sequel is being made without him, the developers assure that the spirit of the original is preserved, and the second part will remain just as absurd and sarcastic.
IGN has published 42 minutes of gameplay. The events unfold after the finale of the first game. A mission is shown to eliminate Senator Mappy Doo, who is associated with the Rhea Pharmaceuticals corporation. Its directors plan to turn humanity into prescription pills. But this is just the beginning: soon a mysterious character from the past appears, puts a bounty on the hero's sister, and once again draws him into chaos and an international conspiracy.
The main innovation is the skateboard, which replaces the sprint (LB button on the Xbox gamepad). It can not only be used for movement, but also thrown at enemies, killing them with one hit. Familiar Gatlians will also return: the Sweezy laser pistol and the Gus shotgun.
The developers also confirmed that High on Life 2 will be released on February 13, 2026, and will be included in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on the day of release.
