The "Demon Slayer" franchise continues to strengthen its status as an international phenomenon. The first part of the "Infinity Castle" arc (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle) has already grossed $193 million worldwide, with about 75% of that amount coming from the Japanese market. Now the film is preparing for release in the US — and is starting there with impressive results.

In three days of pre-sales, "Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle" raised $10 million. For comparison, "Superman" took eight days to reach $10 million, and almost a month to exceed $20 million. The new "Fantastic Four" took two weeks to raise $13 million, and seven weeks to reach $20 million.

The American premiere of "Infinity Castle" is scheduled for September 12. At the current rate, experts predict a record for pre-sales among non-English language releases.

In Southeast Asia, the film also started successfully: $17.5 million in the first weekend and fourth place among the highest-grossing Japanese films in the history of the region. In Japan, "Infinity Castle" has already surpassed "Frozen" in box office revenue and is approaching such record holders as "Mugen Train", "Spirited Away" and "Titanic".

The leader of the Japanese box office remains the previous part of the franchise — "Demon Slayer: Mugen Train" with $219.5 million in Japan and $507.3 million worldwide. This result is still considered a record for anime, but the situation may change: the Japanese release of "Infinity Castle" continues, and the Western one starts only in three weeks.
