The overall assessment from critics is positive, but without surprises. Almost all journalists note that Konami has bet on a safe option, without adding noticeable innovations to the remake.
Publications are giving high scores, but at the same time pointing out outdated elements of the game. For example, The Games Machine writes about "primitive AI behavior" that looks archaic.
Some editorial offices also noticed technical problems. Journalists complain about graphical artifacts that occur during upscaling, especially noticeable on the characters' hair. "Eva and Boss sometimes look like a cloud of pixels has been glued to their heads," notes GameSpot.
It is also reported about rare animation slowdowns on PlayStation 5, which only appear in staged scenes.
The game will be released on August 28 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
