Path of Exile 2 early access won't end this year after all.
Currently, Path of Exile 2 is being developed in a paid "early access" format. The game will remain in this mode throughout 2025.
Recently, game director Jonathan Rogers explained that to release, they need to complete the campaign and "...achieve a balance where people are really happy and things are going well. Until we are sure that both of these conditions are met, we cannot [send the game to release]."
Jonathansuggested that PoE 2 version 1.0 could be released in March 2026: "We release something every four months, so the next release [of a major update] will be in December, and then in March. I certainly hope that there will be a release [1.0] in March, but I won't promise anything. Because ultimately, it all comes down to whether we have met those two conditions. It will be quite difficult to release "Act Five" in December, but we'll see. As for balance, we still have work to do on that [...]".
On August 29, the "Third Edict" update will be released for Path of Exile 2 - the fourth act, new mechanics, and other content will appear.
