Sony Group Corporation is investing in NODWIN Gaming.
Sony Interactive Entertainment has sold its stake in the world's largest fighting game tournament, Evolution Championship Series (Evo), to NODWIN Gaming, which is backed by parent company Sony Group Corporation.
SIE will become the new global sponsor of Evo through 2028 and will continue to support the fighting game community through the PlayStation Tournaments platform and upcoming products focused on fighting game players.
“When we acquired Evo in partnership with RTS in 2021, our goal was to foster the Evo community and highlight the skill and passion of fighting game fans on a global stage.”
NODWIN Gaming, the new co-owner of Evo, is a leader in the esports and youth entertainment industry in South Asia.
“Evo is built by a team whose sincerity and passion for the fighting game community is unmatched. We will continue the great work of SIE and honor the legacy of everyone who has made Evo what it is today, while opening the doors for a new generation to experience the spirit of Evo.”
