The second season of "Peacemaker" is in full swing, and viewers may see a new appearance of Blue Beetle from the 2023 movie.
Blue Beetle may appear in the second season of the "Peacemaker" series. This was hinted at by the head of DC Studios, James Gunn, in an interview with IMDb, commenting on the future of the project and possible crossovers. The director did this in his usual manner — without direct confirmation or denial.
During the conversation, the host admitted that he is a big fan of Blue Beetle and would like to see the character in the new season. Gunn replied: "Well, you know, I wouldn't say you're out of luck."
After the reboot of the DC cinematic universe, the fate of the character remains uncertain. The 2023 film "Blue Beetle" introduced Jaime Reyes to viewers in this role, but did not rule out the existence of Ted Kord. The latter disappeared under mysterious circumstances, but the final scene of the film left a hint of his possible return.
In another interview with Rotten Tomatoes, Gunn explained that "Peacemaker" has always been in an intermediate position and easily integrates into the updated DC universe. According to him, the same applies to "Blue Beetle": both projects "fit organically" into the new structure, and only "a few details" will require a retcon.
The second season of "Peacemaker" started on August 21, 2025. New episodes are released weekly, and the final eighth episode is scheduled for October 9. At the same time, the content of the last three episodes is kept secret: even critics who evaluated the project based only on the first five episodes did not get access to them. Based on their results, the series received 99% "freshness" on the Rotten Tomatoes aggregator.
