Former Capcom director Hideaki Itsuno, known for his work on Devil May Cry and Dragon’s Dogma, has announced the opening of a new office for his studio Lightspeed Japan in Osaka. He also announced the recruitment of three key developers with whom he previously worked at Capcom.
- Toshihiro Nakagawa (pseudonym Bingo Morihashi), writer for Devil May Cry 3–5 and both parts of Dragon’s Dogma
- Daigo Ikeno, an artist known for character design for the Devil May Cry and Street Fighter series, as well as art director for Dragon’s Dogma
- Gouda Cheese (known as Bengus), a Capcom illustrator who worked on Street Fighter 2, Power Stone, and Darkstalkers
According to Itsuno, about a third of the studio's 40 employees are from Capcom. He noted that trust and years of experience working together with specialists such as Nakagawa, Ikeno, and Gouda Cheese will help create a successful game.
We know what each of us wants. This trust allows us to move forward with confidence, despite the fact that this is a new studio.
