Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a return of a cult game and an entire series that has been absent from the market for many years. But the revival from Konami has awakened hopes among key participants in the original project, which have not quite been justified.
David Hayter, the voice actor for Solid Snake, admitted in an interview with Inverse on the eve of the release that the role of Snake is a significant part of his life and career, so he did not even hesitate to return. "I'm always ready when I'm asked to be Snake again. It's the most important role in my life," the actor said.
Hayter hoped that he would be offered to completely re-record all his lines in order to bring in the experience gained over 20 years. He feels like a better actor now than he was then. But the developers decided to use the original recordings of his voice in order not to disrupt the integrity of perception.
Unlike him, Cynthia Harrell, the performer of the main theme "Snake Eater", got the chance to completely re-record her song, bringing new sound and emotions to it. She accidentally found out about the remake from a friend of her son.
