Davy X Jones is coming out today. Developers will throw players into a pirate hell
Davy X Jones early access starts on Steam on August 28, 2025. This is a single-player PC project that may appear on consoles after refinement.
Parasight developers have announced the price: the first week the game will cost $6.66, then the price will increase to $9.99. The publisher noted that the price may rise again with subsequent updates. Today's version will offer all the key mechanics, and in the coming months the project will receive a lot of new things.
In Davy X Jones, the player takes control of Davy Jones, divided into two bodies: his mocking talking skull points the way, and his powerful headless body carries out commands. The journey takes place in the world of Locker — a surreal afterlife for pirates, divided into nine islands floating among the clouds. Here you will encounter demons, souls of the damned, and legendary monsters like the Kraken. The combat system is based on first-person battles using a sword, firearms, a rope hook, and even your own skull.
An important role is played by the so-called fusions: defeated enemies leave particles of Essence, from which you can collect chests with valuable loot, but each such chest also creates a new demon. Jones' key ally will be Abby, a living whale ship that acts as a base, artillery, and support on the journey. It can be strengthened by hiring legendary officers and unlocking new destructive abilities. The hero's ultimate goal is to gain strength and become the Devil himself, because that's the only way to leave the hellish lands.
Parasight previously released Blacktail, which scored an average of 7.9/10 on OpenCritic.
