Hangar 13 has released an update for Mafia: The Old Country, fixing bugs and improving the game's performance in key areas — from gameplay and graphics to sound and stability.

The developers have refined the behavior of allies to prevent them from hindering progress, improved enemy reactions and NPC animations, and eliminated issues with invisible collisions, missing cover, and quests that could block progress. Missions now proceed more naturally and without unnecessary glitches.

In the visual department, the patch eliminates the "trailing" effect in cutscenes during upscaling, improves display on ultrawide monitors, refines hair physics, lighting, and effects, and removes graphical artifacts. In the interface, a bug with the main menu background has been fixed, the interface has been refined, and missing subtitles in various languages have been restored. In audio, issues with disappearing music and voice acting, as well as desynchronization between voices and text, have been resolved. Animations are now smoother: jerks, character sticking, and errors in dialogue scenes have been fixed. In localization, duplicate words and inconsistencies in translations have been removed.

Improvements have also been released for individual platforms: stability has increased on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, graphics have been further improved on Series S, and DLSS Frame Generation crashes have been fixed on Steam.

Mafia: The Old Country became a prequel to the series and was released on August 8, 2025, on PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S. The events unfold in Sicily in the early 20th century and tell the story of Enzo Favara's rise in the Torrisi family.
