Blizzard Sues Authors of Turtle WoW Fan Servers — Modders are Making a Client on Unreal Engine 5
Lawyers have taken notice of the Turtle WoW project, which is well-known in certain circles.
It recently became known that Blizzard Entertainment has filed a lawsuit against Turtle WoW. The project includes several unofficial servers, and modders have also shown a game client on the modern Unreal Engine 5.
A Blizzard representative stated: "Our games are built upon decades of innovation and creativity, and we take our responsibility to protect the integrity of that work for our employees, partners, and players seriously. This pirate server illegally uses our code, assets, and trademarks to promote an insecure gaming experience. Given the scale and nature of the infringement, we must take official action to protect the world we have created."
According to available data, the online presence of Turtle WoW in August reached a peak of over 44,000 players.
