The new DualSense, which will be released in October alongside the game Ghost of Yotei, has divided the community. Sony showcased the device in July as part of a limited edition console and gamepad bundle, but the online reaction has been mixed.
Pre-orders start on September 4, 2025, with a price of $84.99. Many comments criticizing the design have appeared on Reddit:
"Not for me. Most limited edition gamepads look bad, and this one is one of the worst," one user wrote.
Another added: "Looks like someone smeared something on it."
There are also positive reviews, although significantly fewer.
The controller can be purchased separately or in a bundle with the console in the Ghost of Yotei version.
Shipping is scheduled for October, simultaneously with the release of the game, which will appear on PS5 and PS5 Pro on October 2.
