New content is coming soon to Stellaris, along with an alternative look at the old.
Paradox Interactive has announced the upcoming launch of the Shadows of the Shroud expansion for the global space strategy Stellaris. They presented a story trailer for the DLC:
«The Machine Age expansion introduced a new perspective on synthetic and cybernetic ascensions. In BioGenesis, a new biological ascension became available. Shadows of the Shroud is the final part of the trilogy, significantly reworking the psionic ascension in Stellaris».
New origins, civic models, government types, events, portraits, ships will be added to Stellaris, and a rework of the Cyclus End will be presented.
The developers clarified that the Cyclus End will remain available to all owners of the Utopia DLC:
[The expansion] Shadows of the Shroud also guarantees access to this feature (if you do not have Utopia) and exclusive new content expanding it.
The expansion is expected to be released on September 22.
