Daniel Drapeau has left the studio and is now working as a creative director at WB Games Montreal, possibly on a new DC game. The status of Fairgames remains unclear, but Haven Studios is still hiring 8 different specialists, including senior game designers, programmers, and artists.
Despite internal difficulties and leadership changes, Sony has not officially confirmed the cancellation of the project. An analyst who previously reported the cancellation later clarified that he was not sure about the fate of Fairgames. It is known that Haven co-founder Jade Raymond left the studio after an unsuccessful internal review of the game, indicating a problematic development.
Sony's strategy in the field of service games is facing difficulties: the company planned to release 12 projects by March 2026, but some have already been canceled, such as the Last of Us game, and others have been commercially unsuccessful, such as Concord with a budget of $200 million. Helldivers 2 has been successful, but it was created by a third-party studio, Arrowhead, and not by Sony's internal teams.
