This year, Russian-speaking players who don't want to wade through confusing reference books or learn thick volumes of rules may have the chance to become brave heroes and embark on a dangerous fantasy world, as the "Ofizdat" studio intends to localize the tabletop role-playing game "Chasing Adventure".
The "Ofizdat" studio announced that the crowdfunding campaign for the tabletop role-playing game "Chasing Adventure" by game designer Spencer Moore, one of the co-authors of the new edition of Dungeon World 2, has launched on the crowdfunding platform.
The main goal is to raise 350 thousand rubles. Thanks to the "Early Bird" offer, the rulebook can now be purchased for 2990 rubles (but it will only be valid for 17 copies). After that, the price of the TTRPG will increase to 3350 rubles. Also, a screen can be purchased for 2700 rubles, printed character booklets for 520 rubles, and exclusive dice for 1250 rubles.
In "Chasing Adventure", players will have to transform into valiant heroes eager for glory, wealth, redemption, or the unraveling of ancient secrets. One of the participants becomes the Game Master. It is he who brings the fantasy world around the gamers to life: invents plots, controls the characters they meet, and throws new challenges at the heroes.
Some people call this tabletop game "DW minus D&D" or "Dungeon World without unnecessary D&D attributes". Many conventions of classic TTRPGs have been removed from the game: no outdated characteristics like "Constitution" or counting Health Points, no inventory overload with gold, equipment lists, racial restrictions, or moralizing worldview. Plus, there is a solo mode.
The book is in A5 hardcover format and contains 216 pages and a ribbon bookmark. The book block is made of 110 mg offset paper. Each collection milestone unlocks a new shade of the ribbon bookmark. The basic version is gray, 390 thousand rubles - blue, 420 thousand rubles - light blue, 450 thousand rubles - green, 500 thousand rubles - pink, 550 thousand rubles - red, 650 thousand rubles - gold.
"Chasing Adventure" will reach sponsors in November. The PDF version of the book will go on direct sale as soon as it is ready, presumably in the first days of October. The digital version of the book is not included in the crowdfunding rewards.
