Amazon has officially announced a series based on Life is Strange, an adventure game by Don't Nod studio. Amazon MGM Studios is producing in collaboration with Square Enix, LuckyChap, and Story Kitchen.
The showrunner and screenwriter for the project is Charlie Covell, who previously worked on the series "The End of the F***ing World" and "Kaos." According to her, she is a fan of the original game and strives to create an adaptation that is interesting for both longtime fans and new audiences.
The plot will focus on the story of Max, a photography student who discovers the ability to rewind time. The ability manifests when she saves her childhood friend Chloe from death. Together, the heroines begin investigating the disappearance of a classmate and face the dark secrets of the town of Arcadia Bay. In the end, they will have to make a difficult moral choice.
The official synopsis of the series almost verbatim repeats the setup of the game, which may indicate the adaptation's closeness to the original source.
