Bungie has announced the presentation date for the next story expansion for Destiny 2 — Renegades. The presentation will take place on September 9, 2025, and will present the first detailed look at the collaboration with Star Wars motifs.
How exactly the plot of the expansion will fit into the world of Destiny is still unknown. Renegades will offer elements of the iconic universe, including the Empire, the underworld, blasters, and lightsabers. It seems a new Dredgen will appear. There will be no raid, but players will be able to explore a new Dungeon, for which a World’s First competition is expected in Contest mode.
Renegades will be released on December 2, 2025, but before that, players will be able to try out the major Ash and Iron update. It will be available on the day of the stream and will add new gear, Artifact modifications, new modifiers, events, and changes. The Perpetual Desert will receive a new Epic difficulty level.
Recently, the number of players on Steam has noticeably decreased, and Ash and Iron may become an incentive for the community to return.
