So many people wanted to buy the game that the store experienced malfunctions.

The long-awaited release of Hollow Knight Silksong recently took place. The game was #1 on Steam's wishlist.

Steam's servers recovered from the sharply increased load, players gradually began to connect, and as a result, Hollow Knight Silksong demonstrated a peak online presence of 535,000 players.

The new game from Team Cherry turned out to be in 18th place in the list of the most popular games in Steam history - between Path of Exile 2 (578,000) and the open beta of Battlefield 6 (521,000).

If we consider only the releases of 2025, then Silksong was able to surpass only one project - Monster Hunter Wilds with a peak online presence of 1.3 million players.
